Hello - Two of my great uncles were members of the "committees" who signed fire tax records. Both were murmesters. One signed from 1769-1786 and the other 1785-1807. Johan Hessler (1735-1786 and Gottfried Hessler (1746-1813), respectively. When I look at the records and see their signatures and wax seals so many times I began to wonder where in Oslo this took place. Where ever it was my uncles must have been very familiar with it! Is the office or administrative location known during the periods I mentioned? Sorry I have not written in Norsk. Thank you for any help. Steve Heimerle in San Francisco
