Ola Antonusson lived at Knurren. He was the first user the book knows the name of.Frik Jonson and Thuri Johannisdatter married Nov.26th, 1773. The groom is said to be born in 1743 and the bride 1753 but the records in this area nearly always says that the groom is 30 and the bride 20 years old. I even found a forefather that was married twice and he was 30 years at both marriages, and it was 16 years between the two marriages. The marriage could have taken place in either Tjugum or Feios churches. Tjugum is the nearest church to Langeteig.

Hans Mundahl was born on a cotters farm called Mundalskreda or just Skreda. It belonged to the farm Øvre(Upper) Mundal. His father, Hans Olson was b. ca 1776 but not in the area covered by the book. In 1801 census he was a sevant in Mundal. He mar. Brita Olsdatter Lidal in 1804. They got 4 children: Ole b. 1804, Ole b.1810, Peder b. 1812, Kari b. 1814. Brita died when Kari was born. Hans remarried April 12th, 1814 with Kari Friksdatter. I found 7 children: Frich, babt. Apr.4th, 1815, Britha, bapt. Feb.2nd, 1817, Hans, born Dec.12, 1818, Thuri b. Apr.22nd, 1820, Mari b. Jan.25th, 1822, Marthe b. Jul.18th, 1825 and Peder b. May 5th, 1829. This shows that Marthe and Peder who emigrated together with Hans and family was his sister and brother. Thuri mar. Eirik Mikkjelson Bjåstad. and they also emigr. to USA.

When did Thuri marry Eirik? Did they emigrate with her parents? Are there any clues on where Hans Olson Mundalskreen came from?

Thuri and Erik got m. Oct. 31st 1847. Erik is then called a cotter.Thuri was Hans Hansen Mundahl`s sister. As they probably emigrated before 1867, I`m not able to find any details about the emigration. Bjåstad is covered by the book, but that part is not available to me.

Does your book tell anything about Hans Hanson Mundahl's other brother and sister, namely Frich (baptized April 4, 1815) and Britha (baptized February 2, 1817)? Did they marry? Were they dead before the rest of their family emigrated? Can you tell me what day and month Hans Olson Mundalskreen was born in 1776? Do you have any idea when Ola Torson Mundal(Father of Hans Olson Mundalskreen) was born or died? Can you tell me when Kari Friksdatter died in 1869? Mange takk.

Hans Olsson Mundalskreen d. Jan.23 1866. Kari d. Apr.29 1869. Frick Hansson m. Gitlaug Knutsdatter Kråkenes (a cotters place at Nedre Mundal)Oct.25 1841 and took over after his father. He d. Aug.24 1854. Britha m. Johannes Johannesson Hamrum Jun.6 1842. Mari m. Ole Johannesson Hatlestad Oct.17 1845. They took over a cotters place in Øvre Mundal called Mundalssva. I also found a daughter of Thuri Hansd. and Erik Mikkjelson: Anna, b. Jun.7 1847.

Ola Torson Mundal had a son Hans but he was born in 1745 and died 1774. Nothing in the records available tells us where and when Hans Olson was born and who his father was. No Hans is born in Balestrand area that can match Hans Olson.

In regard to the posting by Knut Bryn, Molde of 6.01.2004 (5)Kari Andersdatter's father Anders Amundsen from Eitorn Farm a little East of Hella. When was he born? When did he die? Who were his parents? Is there any information on Ingrid Nilsdatter? Her date of birth? Parent's names? Date of death? What gard was she from? Mange takk.

Niels Hansen married Magnhilde Olsdatter October 15, 1787 at Leikanger. The 1801 census shows that Niels was 43 years old in 1801 and Magnhilde Olsdatter was 44 years old and they were living at Tiugum, Leikanger. Who were Niels Hansen's parents and where were they from? Who were the parent's of Magnhilde Olsdatter? Mange takk.
