Hello, my grandfather was the youngest son of John and Julianne Jenshus. They appear in the 1900 census in Skei. The census says he was born in 1854 in Beitstaden....(by the way, this is wrong, he was born in 1874) and she was born in 1875 in Maere. The census shows that they have a daughter named Anna born in 1893.The place of birth shown on the census for Anna is 't'. I don't know what that means.My grandfather NEVER mentioned this sister. My mother has had no idea all her life that she even had an aunt named Anna. All the family photos only show the other children. I do not know if she died at a young age, was perhaps not John's child, so was left out of family photos or was left out for other reasons. I just know my grandfather all his life never said this sister existed.I would desperately love to have any information about Anna for my mother's family history.Can someone please help me?

Do you have any idea of whatyour great grandfather's first name was? I find them in the 1900 census: LenkeIt won't be easy to find anything more unless you have his father's name.best Kjellaug

Yes, I have all the information on John Jenshus and his ancestors....at least back to 1806. The one I am really interested in finding out about is the daughter Anna that shows up in the 1900 census. I would love to know what happened to her.John's father was Martinius Pedersen Byplass and his mother was Anna Jensdatter Gausen, both born in Inderoen.

She may have died as an infant since your mother hadn't heard of her. I discovered not so long ago that my own grandfather had several siblings that died very young and my mother had never heard of them.
