I guess this is the family you are searching for, living in Christiania in 1900: Gurstaf Gulbrandsen, wife Mina Gulbrandsen (she has taken her husband’s name) and their son, Gustav William born 1900: Lenke The 1900 census says that Gustaf was born 1864 in Vang, Hedmark.

The closest I’ve come to a Gustav in Vang, is this one: Gustav Gulbrandsen, born 1862. He is the son of Lisabet Torkelsdatter, who again is the daughter of the farmer Torkel Larsen and his wife Lisbet AndersdatterLenkeBut I can’t be sure if this is the correct person.
