I have a GG Grandfather named Svend Erichsen b. 1772 in Løten, Hedmark. Svend married Gunnor Andersdatter b. circa 1768, Løten, Hedmark. Some time ago, an aquaintance kindly sent me the following regarding Svend, and I quote: 'I visited the archive on Saturday and looked up the parish records for Løten parish, Hedmark county. It was easy to find Susanna Svendsdatter. She was born November 8th 1811 and christened November 10th 1811. The parents were Svend Erichsen (Eriksen) Svendbye and Gunnor Andersdatter. According to the Løtenboka volume 3, page 886 Svend Erichsen was born 1772 and Gunnor Andersdatter (from neighbour farm Bækengen) was born approx. 1768. Svend and Gunnor were married in 1795. Svend was the first 'settler' on the Svendbye farm so the farm must have been named after him. Look up the 1801 census for Løten (= Leuthen). You will find Svend and Gunnor then at the farm Hommelstangholtet.' I don't know anything about the farm and am wondering if it still exists, where it is, and if there is any way I could gain more information regarding Svend's relationship to the farm.

Thank you for the link Svein. I have already had a quick look at this site and hope it might lead to more information on the Svendbye farm and my ancestors. Svend and Gunnor had 3 children that I know of, Engbret Svendsen, Mari Svendsdatter, and Susanna Svendsdatter (my G Grandmother). I also believe that Gunnor had a previous child named Thron Thronson.Again, my thanks for your post, Karl
