Could someone do a lookup in the Onsoy church records for Caroline Magnusdatter´s wedding Sept. 5th, 1875 to see if her father is called Magnus Nilsen.

I think this is her in 1865 living with her mother Sille Rasmusdatter born 1828 and Carolines Grandparents.When Sille had Caroline, she was not married to this Magnus Nilsen.

Yes, this is the Karoline I am looking for. Her mother must have died as Magnus remarried, in Eiker, Buskerud, to Karen Marie Ellensd. Vestfossen, they had a child Andreas in Eiker, moved to Sannidal, Telemark then to Borge, Ostfold, they had several more children along the way, then all of the family except Karoline immigrated to America in the early 1880's. I am trying to find Karoline, who she married, her children (if any), etc. Thank you for your help.

I belive Caroline from census 1900 Onsø married to Julius Hansen,is the right one.The other Caroline b.1855 in Eiker married Kristian Andreassen 19/4 1884 Eiker. Her father was Magnus Olsen. Not Nilsen.FROM mormonarkivet. 2 of their children. Hanna Maria Juliussen b. 7/8 chr.12/9 1875 and Karl Johan Juliussen b.6/9 chr.7/11 1886 Onsø. D.22/2 1951.He Married 1911 Onsø, Olga Kristine Martinussen. Children: Borghild Ingri(1912-1991)and Harald(1917-1987)

Thanks for all of the information. I had found this Caroline in the 1900 Census and thought that it was probably the right Caroline but, if I understand correctly, the only way to double check it is to check the marriage record from the church where it will list Caroline's father. Is that correct?

You noted a child, Hanna Maria. Her birth date preceeds her parents marriage date, not impossible I guess. Also she is not listed in the 1900 census, so I assume she had left home in 1900 as she would have been 25 years old.There is a big gap between her birth in 1875 and Karl Johan's in 1886, so I guess there is a possibility of many other children.You indicated a source for the info on the children which I didn't quite understand. Is it available on-line? I would like to check for other children. Thanks again for all your help.

You find the link to census 1900 in answer number 2 here, from Inger Sofie Olberg, Moss.All the children and their parents a listed there.As u will find,Caroline is borne in 1853 in Eiker.And yess all the census is available online.Here on digitalarkivet. Census 1801-1865-1875-1900.
