I am trying to find the parents of Halsten Nilssen (b)1736 Fla (d)1795 Fla and the parents of his wife Gullaug Reiulsdatter (b)1733 Reiulsplassen, Krodsherad. (d)1782 Gullingsrud Farm. Halsten and Gullaug were married in 1766 had children Ole (b)1764 and Helga (b)1765. Any information would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance. Steve

(When Halsten Nilsen was baptized, his father's name was written wrong in the Parish register). From Book 2 Nes , Hallingdal, fol. 108a:*Barnedaab 9.Apr. 1836 i Flaa - Niels Erichens b. Halsteen. Test: Ragnild Gulbrandsd. Ellef Michelsen, Knud Ellefsen, Ole Hansen, Marie Ellefsd.* (Correct fathers name - Niels Ellefsen).Halsteen Nielsen Lie and Golloug Reiulsdatter got married, Dom 18 p. Trinit 1865 in Flaae. (Should be same as Oct.6).In *Gards og slektshistorie for Flå i Hallingdal - bind II* you will find the family mentioned under the farm Li, at page 549.Very, very shorted from the book: Halstein Nilsen b.1836, m.1766 Gullaug Reiulsd. Mentioned here 1762 and 1764. Lived Hovdestøen (under Hovde) in Nes.His 3 brothers and 1 sister are also mentioned. Their parents were Nils Eilivsen from Stavn 1702-1773, m.1725 Hælgæ/Helga Olsdtr. from Islandsrud, Nes b.1696 - d.1777 at Sanden, Nes. (Niels Eilevsen used the farm Li for some years).This 'bygdebook' was published 2003. 2 or 3 books will follow. There you will find Stavn. (Hovdestøen/Haldorstøen/Støen):Halstein Nilsen Li, Flå b.ab.1736 - d.1795, m.1766 in Flå Gullaug Reiulsdtr probably from Reiulsplassen under Gåran in Krødsherad, b.ab.1733 - d.1782 (Gullingsrud, 49 years). Gullaug was probably daughter of Reiul (Reidulv) Helgesen Gåran and wife Hælgæ Olsdtr. from Gren (Krødsherad I - page 537).Their 2 children are mentioned. You will find a lot around their son Ole Halsteinsen and his family.Halstein and Gullaug were named Li in 1765, Gaptjern in 1768, Sevre in 1776, lived at Gire 1781 and Gullingsrud 1782 and 1784.Greetings from an old sailor.

Thankyou Ellef for the response. You English is fine and you have helped me tie up some loose ends. I am and have been researching the STOEN name now for about 5 years. Ole Halstensen was the father of Halsten OLSEN who adopted the Stoen name when we immigrated to the USA in 1850. That would make Niels Ellefsen a 8 times great grandfather to my wife.
