Norgeprosjektet, et initiativ i regi av noen av folka bak FamilySearch, har tidligere vært drøftet her i forumet (se tema 51938). Neste steg i dette prosjektet er indeksering av folketellingen i 1875. Jeg har i dag mottatt følgende i mail fra Ray Madsen :”Of more recent, a new joint project is the 1875 Norway census. Univ. of Tromso has already begun indexing the urban areas of Norway. We have agreed to do the rual areas. We have just received permission in house to begin the digitizing of the 1875 census so the indexing can begin. As always the human resources for the work is always a challenge. For the 1875 census one must be able to read the handwriting. We have created templates in a data entry tool (UDE) and instructions. The indexing of the census will be linked to the images and of course the information will be made available free. . . . Do you have any contacts with those that might be interested or willing to work on the 1875 census? We have some volunteers that have already come forward to help, but of course we need a bigger army then we now have.
