Based on the info from Ole Tobias´childrens confirmations Lenke they were all born in Løvdalen. Ole Tobias is a farmer and a butcher.

I have found one Gustav Ydestad born 24/4 -1890, died 19/1-1954,burried in Kvås, Lyngdal.Grave:B-04-094.Most probable Karolines husband(19). WOW!!! What a wonderful flood of information. Thank-you all so much. I am still trying to take it all in. Thank-you, Ragnhild for that fantastic photograph of my Great-Grandfather's farm. Could you post the name and full address of the person that lives there now, so that I can obtain the telephone number? I have always hoped that I would one day be able to travel to Norway and walk around the hills and the original farm buildings of my ancestors. I am already starting to plan my trip of a life-time. Would you please translate the text of the Luras farm for me without using abbreviations. I can't follow the information very well. I WILL learn a bit of Norwegian before my visit, though. I think that perhaps, my Grandfather may have used 'LURAS', as the basis for the middle name of 'LEWIS' that he adopted in America (he dropped 'KNUDSEN' altogether, because it just cannot be modified into anything that fits in with American, English-language names). LURÅS FARM, NORTH - NORTHERN UNIT, AUSTBYGDE COMMINITY, FARM NO. 39, SECOND UNIT - TINN MUNICIPALITY, COUNTY OF TELEMARK:”The farm consists of 25 dekar (approx. 6 ¼ acre) cultivated land, and 350 dekar (approx. 87 ½ acre) woodland. Also 1/6 share of mountain region (highland) belongs to the property. Animal husbandry consists of 30 sheep and one horse. Dairy farming was discontinued 1976. First tractor was acquired 1968. Today’s assembly of machinery consists of one tractor, an irrigation system and hay dryer. The farm holds a part in a common water supply system.The yard encompass a farmhouse built 1850; renovated and added on to in 1950, two houses dedicated the retired farmers; built respectively 1948 and 1977, a storehouse from 1810, a barn from 1911 and a blacksmith’s workshop from 1870.
