Phyllis Underberg Phyllis Undeberg, 85, died on June 14, 2008, in Sun City West, AZ. She will be interred during a graveside ceremony at the VA Cemetery in Sturgis, SD later this summer.Phyllis was born on February 12, 1923 at Sisseton, SD, to Samuel and Marcella (Gravdol) Jones. Phyllis was raised in Sisseton with her siblings. Upon graduation from high school, she attended nursing school at Eithel Hospital in Minneapolis, MN, and graduated as a registered nurse. She returned to Sisseton and worked as an RN at the Indian Health Service Hospital. She was united in marriage in 1947 to Ralph Undeberg from Cando, ND. Ralph had returned from WWII and was working in Sisseton with the telephone company. Phyllis and Ralph soon moved to Aberdeen, SD, where Phyllis worked as a stay-at-home mom for their four children. In 1960 the family moved to Sioux Falls, SD where Ralph continued to work for the telephone company and Phyllis rejoined the work force as an RN on the second shift at Mom and Dads Nursing Home. She soon became the administrator of the facility and worked in that capacity for 15 years. Phyllis was the first certified female administrator in the state of South Dakota. While still running a nursing home and raising a family, Phyllis and Ralph opened up a uniform store. Phyllis knew there was only one other uniform store in Sioux Falls and knew the company would be successful, which it was. In 1983 Ralph and Phyllis retired, sold the uniform business, and moved to Sun City West, AZ. She learned to play golf in her retirement and achieved two holes in one--both were on the same course, and the same hole. Last year, Phyllis suffered a hip fracture, and experienced declining health following the incident. She died on June 14, 2008. Phyllis Undeberg is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ralph Undeberg; her children Mark Undeberg, Lynn Wendt Pederson, Paula Undeberg and Kristen Undeberg; her grandchildren, Michael Wendt, Kristin Wendt, Tara Undeberg and Page Unde-berg; her great-grandchild Joslin; her brother Merle (Sam) Jones; and her sister Betty (Jones) Mindt. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Charlotte.

Mvh Jarleif

Takker igjen for flere interessante innspill!
