Born March 18 and bapt. august 16 Oline. Parents: cotter Ole Kristofersen Ryanpl. (Ryanplass) and Anne Larsdatter. (Oline was first bapt. at home by Baard Ryan). Faddere: Bastian Svendsen Ryan and wife Resedine/Resine Andreasdatter, Bernt Evensen Langmark, Margrete Andreasdatter Vækre, Peder Lorentsen Ryan and Maria Baardsdatter.

Faddere = godfather/mother (and next witnesses?).

I think the correct translation of 'faddere' would be *sponsors'. The term 'godfather' or 'godmother' is in Norway often used for the one that carries the child to the font, but it is not a term used by the Church of Norway itself (i.e. church legal term vs. popular usage).DTH
