As you may have seen, I was looking for the death records for Jørgen Johnsen Skaar & Berthe Arnesdtr Bergstad. I got confused about which farm they were from, because Jørgen was born at Skaar in Nedstryn. But in the 1900 census, he & Bertha are living at Skaare in Opstryn. I made a bad assumption, based on the fact that Jørgen was born in Nedstryn, that they still lived there. Obviously, I was wrong. So, after much confusion, I think I've got that part right. Now, I am looking for their son. But again, things are not so clear. Hei Patricia, I have in my database Johan Jørgensen Skaare born 1875, moved 1894 Christiania(Oslo), in 1900 Oslo, there is only 1 Johan from Nordfjord, born in 1875, and he is Johan Berge, Rune

Thank you Rune!It makes sense that he would be called Johan and not Jens, since his father was Jørgen Johnsen. But I thought it was odd that the kirkebøker have two different names for him. I see in the Oppstryn Ministerialbok that he migrated to Christiania in October 1894. I looked here before, but I must have looked only for Jens.Again, thank you for responding!
