It depends a bit on what kind of court records that will be in question.

 

Tingbøkene were kept by the local judges. They are found back to early 1600s. They list publications at court: ownership, agreements, but also all the questions taken to court from civilians over disputes, and also the criminal cases brought to court by the magistrates or sheriffs. Later (mostly after 1780) the criminal cases were found in the Ekstrarettsprotokoll.
