The property document c. 1905 ,at sale, gives thre entries xx/223 is that an old numbering system how do you know to look for 83/17??

See the link in my post of August 18th, upper left corner. I'm not familiar with the "xx/223" reference. The current number system was introduced about 1890.

Also Is hansvold marked?? Langestokke??

I suppose that all estates are marked on the map.

I'm not familiar with the "xx/223" reference.

If you refer to what I wrote on August 13th, about 160/223, 33/223 and 30/223, these are fractions, not estate numbers.

That's an odd fraction but such is life!!

I don't think it's odd. Hans Olai Mikkelsen cut off two land lots and sold them to two of his sons, and then sold the rest of his estate to a third son. It wasn't a point to make three estates of equal value, and casually the assessment of the land lots turned out this way.

entry 11 is this something going on in hammerfest I can't read it??

Entry no. 11 refers to an obligation from Hans Olai Mikkelsen. He loaned 230 speciedaler from "the Senja administration of under age persons money" (my translation) and put his estate, 85/11 Breivold, as guarantee. The loan was paid back in 1907, and so the entry was erased.

Then there is a remark, which is really not part of the entry, that estate no. 7a and 7b (old numbers) have been merged (sammenføied). I think you may have read "sammenføied" as "Hammerfest"?

entry 12 the writing after the main entry re Jens Mikkelsen what does it say??m I can't read that either??

Entry no. 12 refers to Hans Olai Mikkelsen permitting Ole Estensen and his son Sivert Olsen to settle at Høideteigen, which was a part of Hans Olai Mikkelsen's estate 85/11 Breivold, for a fee of 14 kroner a year. This was in 1877. Then, in the right column, there is a remark that Ole Estensen and his wife are dead, recorded at court in 1904. There is also a remark, recorded at court in 1936, a statement from Jens P. Mikkelsen that entry no. 12 doesn't regard estate 85/22.

entry 13 this mentions something about America -what?? Also Jens makes an appearance what is that??

Entry no. 13 refers to a brevet (1883) from Ole Estensen to Peder Andreassen, regarding Ole Estensen's buildings on Hans Olai Mikkelsen's estate. Peder Andreassen also acquires Ole Estensen's permission to settle at 85/11 Breivold, in place of Sivert Olsen, who has left for America. Peder acquires the permission with the consent of Hans Olai Mikkelsen. In the right column is a remark about Sivert Olsen abandoning his permission to settle, and a remark similar to the remark above, a statement from Jens P. Mikkelsen that entry no. 13 doesn't regard estate 85/22.

entry 14 was this sold by Jens in 1936??

Entry no. 14 is similar to entry no. 12, as Hans Olai Mikkelsen permits Petter Johan Johansen and wife Mathilde Johansen to settle at 85/11 Breivold for their lifetimes. In the right column is a declaration that Petter Johan Johansen is dead, and once again a statement from Jens P. Mikkelsen that entry no. 14 doesn't regard estate 85/22.

85/22 is probably a land lot cut off from 85/11 sometime before 1936, and Jens P. Mikkelsen wants to declare that these old encumbrances don't regard 85/22.

entry 15 and 16 this is the little house Jens bought??

Entry no. 15 is an obligation. Petter Johansen has loaned 2500 kroner from Jon Brøset and puts the buildings he has built at Sniphaugen as guarantee.

Entry no. 16 is similar to entry no. 12 and 14. Hans Olai Mikkelsen permits Jens Petter Hansen and wife to settle at 85/11 Breivold for a fee of 15 kroner a year.

entry 17 please advise

Entry no. 17 refers to an agreement on borders between Havnvik and Breivold.

entry 21n does this imply Ole was Jen's brother?? (he wasn't)

Entry no. 21 refers to a brevet (1899) from Ole Andreas Hansen to his brother Jens Petter Hansen, regarding half of a cabin located at 85/11 Breivold.

entry 22to 25 who do these refer to??

Entry no. 22 refers to taxes to the local minister. Entry no. 23 through 25 refers to "utskiftning" at Breivold, i.e. ground that the Breivold owners had in common, was divided and added to each ones estate.

entry 27 and 28 these refer to the sale of the farm??

Entry no. 27 refers to a protest declaration from Martin L. Hansen Breivold. His father Hans Olai Mikkelsen has sold 85/11 Breivold included buildings, which Martin L. Hansen Breivold can't accept, as he claims to be the owner of a cabin.

Entry no. 28 refers to a "skadesløsbrev" (I don't know a proper translation) from Martin L. Hansen Breivold to Mikkel Hansen Parten.

1905 : http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:NBN:no-a1450-tl20080416630473.jpg

Entry no. 27 in short: "As I have learned that my father Hans Mikkelsen Breivold has sold his estate Breivold with buildings, among them a cabin, to my brother Jens P. Hansen, I hereby protest, as the above mentioned cabin is my property [...]. Martin L. Hansen Breivold."

Entry no. 28 in short: "As Mikkel Hansen Parten has provided surety for my son Andreas Jentoft Hansen's loan in Bank of Trondenes, 1000 kroner, I hereby give him security for possible responsibility [...]. Martin L. Hansen Breivold."

I will now move this thread from this forum to the user's forum, as you then may draw the attention of experts on Astafjord and Ibestad.
