Email notification

I am a new user to this forum. In the old forum, when I posted a new topic, I got an email confirmation of that post. Also, when someone posted a reply, I got an email notifying me of that. I just posted my first new topic last night, and got a response from someone this morning. So far, I have not received any confirmation emails. I checked my profile settings and I believe I have it set up properly (to get confirmations by email). Is there something more I need to do?

Patti,

You have to subscribe to each thread individually. Above the post, there's a button called "Abonner på dette emnet" (subscribe to this subject). If you click there, you'll be presented with various options. I usually select "Øyeblikkelig e-postvarsling" (immediate notification).

If I understand you correctly, when I create a new topic, I should click on the button you mentioned, and that will trigger the email notification, right? I wonder, can I go back and do this for new topics I have already created?

Yes that's right. You can subscribe to any subject anytime, and you are not limited to those started by yourself.

 

Also note that when you subscribe, the text of the button changes to "Slutt å følge med på emne" which means "unsubscribe this subject".

There are notification settings in your user settings. When I respond to a topic or start a new one, I subscribe to the topic automatically.

I do not receive an e-mail confirmation of that post, but receive an e-mail if someone replys.

 

Click your name in the upper right corner, and select "Kontrollpanel" (Control panel). In the left menu click "Varselinnstillinger" (Notification settings).
