Hei

LARS "LOUIS" ONARHEIM was born July 09, 1870 in Vågen, Herøysund, Norway, and died October 20, 1907 in Missoula, Montana, U.S.A.. He married ANNA BUE October 06, 1894 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, U.S.A.. She was born August 20, 1873 in Gulbransdalen, Norway, and died January 04, 1964 in Seattle, Washington, U.S.A..

Lars emigrated to North Dakota, U.S.A., from Norway. Lars anglicized his first name to Louis and his last name from Onarheim with an "a" to Onerheim with an "e", and this side of the family have continued to spell Onerheim with an "e". He married Anna Bue on October 6, 1894. Anna came over from Gulbransdalen, Norway, at age fourteen to live with an uncle at Spring Valley. Lars died at age 34 of typhoid fever. After Lars died, Anna continued to live outside of St. John, North Dakota, and married Oscar Krook and they had three children, Axel, Adel and Ruby. Upon retiring, Oscar and Anna moved to Seattle to live closer to their children who worked at the Boeing plant there. Lars and Anna had seven children including twins, Louis and Leonora, born April 18, 1906, in Minneapolis. Louis died April 21, 1906, in Minneapolis and Leonora died August 8, 1906, and was buried at Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Hi and thank you for your answers.

I have read the books from Tysnes and Kvinnherad, but what Cathy wanted to know and I haven_t found is :

When did he leave Kvinnherad to America and how?

Hi,

This might be his emigration record from Bergen:

http://www.digitalar...merk=24484#ovre

and here he received an emigration attest from the church dated May 88. See # 6. He was going to Wisconsin:

and here from another churchbook, dated 11 May 1888. See # 1, 1888:
