Additional source help in Suunfjord

Sorry for the English.

 

What additional resources are available to me to find two individuals who were alive in present day Naustdal in 1865, but do not show up (or are too commonly named to identify) in the 1900 census? One a woman (12 years old in 1865), the other a man (3 years old in 1865).

 

I know that their mother lived on a farm in present day Førde until her death in 1905 but she was listed as a pauper, but at least two other children lived in Bergen.

 

At present no 1875 or 1885 census are online.

There are a 1875 census for Førde and Naustdal, kept at the Regional State Archives of Bergen, but not a 1885 census. The 1885 census only was taken in the towns.

 

I would have looked into the Naustdal confirmation lists, to see if the two are listed there.

 

There is a Naustdal bygdebok, telling about the people that has lived in that area. I would have checked that, to see if more information can be found about these persons.

Thank you for your input! I found the girl in the confirmation list. But not the boy.

 

If the girls were confirmed at 15 would the family have lived at the same farm or would the girls at 15 be living away from the family?

 

The next time I get to the Library in Madison I'll see if the Naustdal Book has anything. The family moved a lot (no father) he died in 1866.
