Den norske Hær : 1628-1900

I am trying to find copies of Den norske Hær : 1628-1900. The Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA has some but it is missing several of the years I am looking for. Family History Library Catalog

 

Does anybody know how I can get copies of the years 1818 to around 1860? Any help is appreciated.

Looks like it's a different book, but I can mention that the same author's "Militærbiografier: den norske hærs officerer fra 18. januar 1628 til 17. mai 1814" is available free as an e-book at the Norwegian Genealogical Society's website: http://www.genealogi.no/content/olai-ovenstad

 

What you're asking for looks to be a real rarity. There's only two copies mentioned in Norwegian libraries, and then without the last years you are looking for

The Family History Library catalog is wrong. The book that Olai Ovenstad made goes only up to 1814. In 1818 the Norwegian was reorganized.

 

The period between 1818 and 1900 is therfor a problematic period because there is no full biografical overwiew.

 

The only book with information about the officers in the period is "PETERSEN, ALF: Den norske hærs vernepliktige officerer 1864-1933. Oslo 1936.".

I am not looking for an individual. I am interested to see how the military was organized. The 1818 charts do a good job but I was hoping to find more especially around 1838-1843. I have had some success using the militariprotokol. I found an uncle that I did not know about. My uncle Ole Hansen was a musketer in the 2nd Kompagnie at the Garnison sogn. The Oslo arkiv provided the most likely name of that company.
