My Norweigian connection.....

I apologise if this is not the place to ask questions, but as I do not speak or read Norweigian it is very difficult for me to be correct in this matter.

 

My name is Paul Carde and I am 60 years old and I am trying to research my family ancestry. I live in Cardiff which is the Capitol City of Wales UK.

 

I have discovered that my grandfather Henry Ingvar Kristian Reinholt, who was born on the 21st May 1893 in Alstadhaugh, married my grandmother, Mary Catherine Hansen in the summer of 1916 here in Cardiff. My mother who was born in 1922 was one of the children born during their marriage. Unfortunately it would appear that Henry and Mary were either divorced or Henry died at sea. He was a Merchant Navy Sailor. My grandmother remarried in 1923.

 

I have discovered by using www.findmypast.com the above details that I have described to you but cannot find any more information about Henry other than that which I have described to you.

Henry Reinholdt appears with his parents Konrad Reinholdt and Henriette Reinholdt in the 1900 census. They were then living in Trondheim. Henry also appears in Trondheim in the 1910 census, when he was a servant.

Henry was baptised in Alstahaug parish, Nordland county (not Alstadhaug in Nord-Trøndelag).

Father is Konrad Reinholt Petersen born 1870 and mother is Henriette Margreth Henriksdatter born 1868, living at Søvik in Alstahaug.
