Hi,

 

Can someone (maybe more than one??) please say what is going on in this probate

from Mikkel Rasch 1845 who died in Ibbestad that year with the relevant Probate given. I cannot understand who gets what/why??. I would like as much detail as you can give.

He left 88 Spd. 8 sk.

 

His widow Anna Cathrine got half of the estate, 44-4, the rest was devided between the children:

What's going on on those two pages who gets what/why??

First the debt and the costs (probate and auction) are listed, and then the heirs are listed, and finally there are a list showing who the debt, the costs and the distribution between the heirs are dealt with.

What was Mikkel's estate was it money alone or property too??

 

It was held auction of Mikkel's personal belongings, and it brought in 103 speciedaler. In addition, the property was assessed for 130 speciedaler. Mikkel thus owned 233 speciedaler, but the debt was 145 speciedaler. He therefore left 88 speciedaler to the widow and children. The widow should have an additional 8 speciedaler for the funeral.

 

Oldest son Johan Rask would be the new owner of the property, but as his share was only just below 15 speciedaler. Thus he was indebted to his mother and his siblings (81 speciedaler) and to the other creditors (44 speciedaler).
