Dette kan være ham jeg leiter etter. Men han oppgir svenske Norrlandet i kirkebøkene og ikke Finland som der han kommer ifra. Min oldefar er født 1892. Altså 4 år etter denne Viktor emigrerte til USA. Kan han ha vært matros på en båt som har gått mellom Norge og USA? Spennende.

Ellen E. Seastrom, 99, Green Bay, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at a local nursing home. She was born Nov. 30, 1904, to the late Victor and Fanny (Fant) Seastrom in Crystal Falls, Mich.

 

She graduated from Forest Park High School in Crystal Falls and graduated from Ferris Institute in Michigan. Ellen taught school in Upper Michigan for several years before moving to Green Bay where she taught accounting, secretarial skills and business courses at the Green Bay Business College for 45 years, retiring in 1973.

 

She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

 

Survivors include her niece, Barbara Griffin; her nephew, Paul (Amy) Massio; also family members, Cheryl and Mark Larson and their daughter, Katherine; Scott and Pam Griffin; and Mark and Patty Griffin.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Arthur and Fannie, Alfred and Angeline and Walter.

 

Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Crystal Falls, Mich Burial:

Den godeste Sjöström skal være fra "Dyblen" i Svensk Norrland, iflg dåpsopplysninger ved egersundssønnens dåp, se lenke i de tidligere innlegg.

 

Er det nå ut fra nye opplysninger mulig å spore hans opphavssted? Jeg har for tiden ikke medlemsskap i SVAR. Han bør jo finnes i noen husforhør et sted?

Det er dette som ikke stemmer helt med hverandre, for denne Viktor som emigrerte til USA står oppgitt fra Finland. Men ifølge Wikipedia ble også Norrland brukt om de nordlige delene av riket som omfatter Finland.

Han står oppgitt som ugift i kirkeboka ved fødselen til Johan Gabriel 1892 i Egersund, men hvis han var gift i usa er vel dette ikke så rart at han tøyde sannheten litt?
