Hello,

I know this thread is quite old, but I try and post my questions anyway:

Would anyone have, or know how to get an acceptable source to prove that Rebekka Mühlenport, wife of priest Michel Jensen Hegelund , is the daughter of Diderik von Mühlenport? Or disprove?

My great-grand father already wrote the Mühlenports in our family tree around 1910. However, since I started translating the tree for my children, I came across several misleading texts on the internet. For example, there is a text written by the historian Arne Odd Johnson which can be viewed at the Digitial Museum about the history of Kristiansund.

Arne Odd Johnson does not list Rebekka Mühlenport as a daughter of Diderik! However, she keeps popping up as a daughter even on the forum of arkivverket.no.

I tried to check on the search engine of family tree, the digitalarkivet.no, internet, etc but can't find a birth record, or marriage record.

I would be grateful if somone had any reliable information.

Greetings from France, Anja

PS if you feel I should post it as a new question not part of this post, I will do so

Bon jour, Anja Leiter!

I have the scanned page of Rebecca Elisabeth von Mühlenport's death. It states that her name before marriage was "von Mühlenport". I have not been able to find any churchbooks from Fosen dating back to her birth-year, 1681.
As you might know the naming tradition in Norway was that the firstborn son was named after the father's father, and the second-born son was named after the mother's father. Rebecca and Mickel's firstborn was named "Jens" (as in his paternal grandfather) and their 2nd child was named Dietrich (as in his maternal grandfather).

I do not belive the stories that tell that Rebecca should have a child with the Danish king or crown-prince. BUT, her aunt did live in Copenhagen. The aunt Ermegaard von Badenhaupt was married to Christoffer Gabel and they did have strong connections to the royal family. HRH Queen Charlotte Amalie did attend Ermegaard's funeral in St.Petri church in Copenhagen February 8th, 1699.

Feel free to contact me via e-mail, Anja 🙂  vibeke@hofsten.com
