Eg har fått fylgjande melding i e-post frå USA;

 

“My Norwegian ancestors appear to be Lewis Thompson, 20 April 1818 to 29 July 1891 and his wife Martha Gray 25 Oct 1823 to 8 Feb 1908.  Both husband and wife are shown to be from Onsoy, Ostfold, Norway”

 

For dei som ikkje les engelsk star det her;

 

«Mine norske forfedre viser seg å vera Lewis Thompson, 20 April 1818 til 29 July 1891, og kona hans, Martha Gray 25 Okt. 1823 til 8 Feb. 1908. Både mann og kone viser seg å vera frå Onsøy, Østfold, Norge».

 

Dette er langt unna «mitt» område, så eg er takksam om nokon kan hjelpe til.

Jeg ville ha ønsket å vite hva det er som viser at de kommer fra Onsøy. Kanskje familien også vet når omtrent de kom til Amerika og om de allerede var gift eller giftet seg der. Det er kanskje mulig å få opplysninger om hvor i USA de bosatte seg og når barna ble født og hva de heter?
