Hej! Söker familjen John Nilsen Bredlie i Horg. John var Husman m jord och f 1835 10/9 i Horg medan hustrun Gjertrud Iversdatter Lunde var f 1829 22/7 i Horg. De hade minst 6 barn, alla f i Bredliemon 1857--1875 och deras dotter Siri Johnsdatter f 1863 31/1 kom till sin faster Johanne Nilsdatter Bredlie f 1833 4/12 i Horg, som var piga i Hammerdal i Jämtland, Sverige. Siri kom hit 1874 9/3, endast 11 år gammal vilket antyder att något har hänt hennes föräldrar!? Min undring gäller just vad som hände Siris föräldrar och syskon efter 1865?

This cemetery is located about 6.5 miles south west of Grafton, Walsh Co North Dakota. From Grafton drive west on Hwy 17, 5 miles. On your left you will see the sign for the church. Drive 2 miles south on county road 8 and you will see the church and cemetery on your right.

 

I walked and read this cemetery on May 21, 2007 using my digital camera. I am willing to share photos, and Walsh Co, Polish and Czech Genealogy information if anyone wishes to contact me.

This cemetery was established on May 30, 1885 with establishment of South Trinity Lutheran Church by Pastor M.J. Waage of Goose River in an Oct 13, 1879 meeting. The cemetery committee were Ole O. Haugerud, John Almen, Johannes Coller, Iver Iverson, Ljone and Anders Monson Hoghaug. The site for the church and cemetery were selected and after much consideration they decided on the SE corner of Section 25 in Fertile Township owned by Iver Stransatern.

South Trinity Lutheran Church was built in about 1886 and the first meeting was held in the new building on Nov 7, 1886. The Church maintains the current cemetery that is located behind the Church. The stones all face east.

ARNE TORBLAA FAMILY Arne L. Torblaa, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lars Torblaa, was born July 20,1861, atUlvik, Hardanger, Norway, and came to the United States in 1876 with his parents and sister, Johanna. A brother, Ole, and sister, Bertha, had come to the United States the year before. The family first settled in Osage, Ia., and came to Grafton Township four years later, in 1880, homesteading on the farm 6 v2 miles west of Grafton. Arne's parents and sisters, Johanna and Bertha, with Arne, came from Iowa by team and wagon, the trip taking three weeks. Arne lived on the home farm until 1904, when he and his family moved to Santa Rosa, Calif., where they lived for two years. He returned to the farm at Grafton where he stayed until 1917 when they moved into Grafton. Arne was married Aug. 1, 1884, to Ingeborg Hellerude, who died a year later. On March 8, 1890, he married Gertrude Bradley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Bradley. She was born in Trondhjem, Norway, Jan. 14,1871, and arrived in the United States in 1888, coming directly to Walsh County. Arne and Gertrude were the parents of six children, Leonard, Iver, Gina, Bertha, Norbert and Agnes. Gertrude Torblaa died in 1926. In 1927 Arne was married to Christine Evanson
