Chris Nilsen Skrevet Mai 10, 2017 Del Skrevet Mai 10, 2017 Please excuse me if this is a very basic question. If someone in the late 1800's has a 'bosted' of 'Drammen' in a church book, is there a way to know which parish they mean? I have discovered that the municipality of Drammen has 6 local parishes (Bragernes, Strømsgodset, Strømso, Konnerud, Skoger & Tangen). I know that parish boundaries have changed a lot over the years and some local parishes were separated out to become their own parishes. So if a person who was a witness at a baptism or appears in a census record, and they have a 'bosted' as Drammen does this give a hint to which local parish they are from? Or could they be from any of the 6? I would like to search the scanned church books but if I could narrow down what 'Drammen' means maybe the search will be easier. Thank you in anticipation. Chris. Dag T. Hoelseth Skrevet Mai 10, 2017 Del Skrevet Mai 10, 2017 In the late 1800s it would be natural to start with Bragernes and Strømsø, as Strømsgodset belonged to the then Skoger municipality. But Strømsgodset is so close to downtown Drammen that the parish should come as no. 3 when you go through the church books. DTH Lenke til kommentar Del på andre sider
