I innlegg #2 i nemnde emne har Ann-Mary lagt inn ei lenke til vigsli til Gunder og Nikolaia frå 1808, som tyder på at Gunder var frå Tåhaug, medan Nikolaia var frå Svidal:

* Olai Andreas Gunderson, born in Crawford Co., WI Nov. 12, 1862, died in Minneapolis, MN Sep. 15, 1925.  He was first married Apr. 18, 1881 in Crawford Co., WI to Anna Marie Fortney (1862-1966), but they divorced prior to 1898, when Olai remarried!  Two questions:  Do you know the year of Olai and Anna's divorce?  Did they have any children?

 

I understand you are basically interested in the background of Nils Gunderson and his wife Pernille, and we are currently trying to figure out where Nils originally may have come from...

Den store utfordringi her er tydeleg opphavet til Nils Gunderson, fødd kring 1818.  Han er altso IKKJE identisk med Nils Andreas Gunderson frå Nydal, og då må han, so vidt eg kan forstå, vera fødd i eit anna prestegjeld, til tross for at FT1865 seier «Førde»...

Lars, I did not research any of the gunderson families on Josephine line, so I do not know county died in.

Lars, I had never done any research on the Josephine Gunderson family. Do we suspect that Nils Gunnersen and Johannes Gunnersen were brothers so that Martinis uncle was Johannes and Josephine uncle was Nils? So Martin and Josephine were 1st cousins?

 

Martin and Josephine had 14 children, three died young.

Yes, proof has been found that Nils and Johannes were indeed brothers, so Martin and Josephine were 1st cousins!  This kind of relationship was not uncommon in the early pioneering days in the US.  In my own family I have one case in Fillmore Co., MN of double cousins marrying in the 1860's.  One of their sons in turn married one of his 1st cousins!

Lars, I see that at the South Kickapoo cemetery there is also a Lena Gunderson Turbin buried. Information on find a grave is she was born 1851 in Norway and died 1926 in Soldiers Grove WI, is it possible she is relative of Johannes and Anna? Daughter? Advise

As far as Lena Gunderson Turben is concerned, yes, I can confirm she was the oldest daughter of Johannes Gunderson and Anna:

 

Nicoline Oleane (1851-1933) married Jens Torbjornson Forthun aka Jens Turben (1844-1919).  Jens was also an emigrant from Luster County, Norway!

 

Johannes and Anna had seven children in all, five born in Norway and two born in Wisconsin!
