Susanna Johnsdatter from Gran

She was born 10 March 1860 in Tingelstad  local parish, Gran, Oppland.  Her parents are John Andersen and Berthe Gudmundsdatter.  I am trying to find emigration record to America.  Any help will be most welcome.  In 1865 she was in Gran (Stuelokken farm) with  her family.  My name:  Lenore Anderson Crookston, Minnesota

Thank you. Yes Susanna is my great great aunt.  Can you tell me why you had also listed Pernell Andersdatter?  Does it look as though they had emigrated together?  (on the same date).  I have more queries and will post. 

Her brothers and mother also was supposed to have emigrated to America.  I will send their information in next post.

2. Aslo ..Susanna's Bertha Gudmundsdatter , born 1837 is found in the 1875 household census with Susanna's youngest brother, Iver Johnsen who was born in 1865.  I have the death parish record of their father, John Andersen as 5 January 1868. 

Iver Johnsen's parish birth record is listed as 18 July 1865 in Gran parish.

 

I do know and have Birthe and Iver listed in Colfax North Dakota , per family records. 

 

Would you find their emigration records?.

This is Lenore Anderson.  In reply to your request for more information on Susanne Johnsdatter and Anders Johnsen, this is what I have questions.  

 

Susanne Johnsdatter: I have researched Susanne's records and only found her emigration from Gran.  I did receive a letter from a daughter in law who lived in Chicago in 1984, with word that the only information they had was that she had married after she came over and her surname was changed to "Bratland?" and she lived in North Dakota.  I have been unable to find her in any records and our older generations have passed and no more stories or hints available.

 

Anders Johnsen: the only word we have is that years ago, when Mons Johnsen (his brother) was alive, prior to 1944, he had stated to his children that he wondered what happened to Anders.

 

We are hoping that you could help us?

We have not found Susanna Johnsdatter  in any record in the United States.  However, a daughter in-law who was living in Chicago sent me a letter in 1984 and said that Susanna had married and moved to North Dakota and changed her surname to ?Bratland.  

 

We are having no success thus far.  Would there be another research tool we could use in Norway?  Would a "sister" church in Norway have access to records from North Dakota?

 

Any other thoughts?
