Hello,

I am search for the birth / baptism record of Gullik Sørensen Omsland b. abt 1821, in Brunlænes (according to the 1865 Census - https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/census/person/pf01038122000438). I found his marriage record, if that helps -

Since this is the forum for transcription....

.. just the trancript of the wedding:

 

[date:] "3de Febr 1843"

"føde og Ophst. Omsland i Tjose"  [birth and residence  at O. in T.]

[age:] 23 Aar (23 years, i.e. born 1819-20)

[father:] "Simen Søren Christophersen"

 

I suppose "Tjose" is more commonly written Kjose, which i think is a (sub)parish ("sokn") in Brunlanes

 

Then it should be possible to find his birth/baptism - if the protocol exists.

Thank you Ivar, I still haven't found his birth/baptism. I also found his confirmation record in the Kjose/Brunlænes parish record

OK, 16 years at the confirmation 1 Oct 1837.

That may include 1821-22 as birth years as well

 

BTW, I noticed an error in my transcription above (corrected).
