I am sorry I did not make this clear.  I am trying to figure out what things say to do on this website and it has been a challenge.  

 

My grandparents are the last two entries on the page; Anders Herman Carlsen and Oline Hansdatter.  I am wondering what the rest of the line says in Norwegian.  I think i have figured out she is from Jevnaker, Norway and he is from Bohuslan Sweden.  The dates are not a problem as well.  Thanks so much for your help.

Column 1 is the running record number (i.e., record 77 for year 1884). Column 2 is the date of their marriage. Column 3 says it is the first marriage for him, first marriage for her. Column 4 gives their names. Column 5 gives his occupation (arbeider = laborer) and both of their current addresses (looks to me like he lives at Roskildgate, or Roskild Way, nr. 17 and she lives on the same street at nr. 20). Column 6 gives their birthplaces, which you have already correctly figured out. Column 7 gives their birthdates (note that, in keeping with European practice, the day is given before the month, so he was born 5 April 1854, not May 4 1854). Column 8 states where they received their Confirmation into the Lutheran church and where they last "went to the altar" (i.e., received communion); she was confirmed in Jevnaker 6 May 1877 and last received communion there, and I can't quite make out what it says for him. Column 9 gives the name and occupation of both of their fathers; Anders's father is Carl Olaussen, and I can't quite make out his occupation, while Oline's father is merchant Hans Helgesen. Column 10 gives the name and address of the two (local) people who sponsored their engagement, and column 11 gives the dates on which wedding banns were posted. Finally, column 14 is used for special remarks; it is noted here that Anders presented an "attest" (i.e., a certificate of good standing in his local parish) from Nyquist (may be the parish he lived in in Sweden) dated 5 Dec 1884.

Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to transcribe this to English for me.  Also, it is very much appreciated that you took the time to explain the meanings of the birth.  I had no idea.

We have family in Norway however, there has been a death  and they are focused on dealing with that loss. 

 I wish i would have learned my grandmother's native tongue of Norwegian when she was alive, but i thought she would be here forever and I could always call and ask her.

Hemmanseier - older Swedish hemmansägare (edit: older spelling hemmansegare) - farm owner (usually also farming it).

 

Nyquist probably signed - usually the parish priest/pastor. May make it easier to find out where the ancestor was from, unless already known.

 

Attest is more like a certificate (for instance, födselsattest often translates as birth certificate) or an affidavit - this one probably stated that he was free to get married, and was needed for the wedding.

 

I can barely see the text in the above picture - it is a good idea to leave a link to the pages discussed.

 

I would think that the Anders Herman born in Tossene has a very good chance of being the right one.
