Family farm

Hei! I am currently in Norway trying to find more family farms. My 2nd great grandpa was born in Eggedal but the farm name, Nordalsene, given by a Geneologist makes no sense. This was where Ole Gunbjorson, my 2nd great grandpa was born on January 6, 1841. He is the son of Gunbjorn Olsen and Helga Pedersdatter. Gunbjorn Olsen had lived on the Aasen/Asen farm.

If it is the correct one, then according to the 1865 census he was born about 1832 and married to Beret Larsdatter

The record states Nerdalseie (Nerdalsplace).  Ole's father (Gunbjørn) lost the farm Moen in 1837 (sold at auction) and the family had to move. They settled at Nerdalseie where Gunbjørn died in 1845. I do not know where Nerdalseie was located, best guess is a small farm in Nerdalen (today called Nedalen) - https://ut.no/turforslag/116624  - hopefully someone local can help you.

"Nerdalen is located west of Andersnatten and 5 km from the center of Nedre Eggedal. North of Nerdalen lies the steep mountain walls towards Nedalsfjellet and Halsteinrud."

"Nerdalen consisted of two farms; Vestgarden (west) and Framgarden (east), as well as the farmhouse places Halsteinrud, Hagan and Plassen (eie)."

Thank you so much, this was so very helpful and I did find the farm with the help of a person at the Tourist Information center who translated Norwegian information for me. 😊
