Da er det mere sannsynlig at det er snakk om Sivert Pedersen Lerfald også født i 1862 (om han har utvandret riktignok)

Dette er fantastisk informasjon. I nekrologen står det at han har 1 gjenlevende søster, Mrs Ole Lee fra Highmore, SD. Han hadde kun 1 søster Marit Olsdatter og det er hun og hennes sønn som er målet for min undersøkelse. 

 

På grunnlag av dette mener jeg å ha funnet henne i folketellingene for 1900, 1910, 1920 og 1930.

Her er de sannsynlige forekomstene i folketellingene.

Naturligvis kaller hun seg Mary.

I 1900 folketellingen er hun født desember 1858 og emigrerte i 1884

I FT1930 bor de på Highmore.

 

Som sagt er gjenstand for mine undersøkelser å finne eventuelle etterkommere av hennes sønn Alfred. I folketellingen 1900 står det at de ikke har levende barn. Dette vil ikke nødvendigvis utelukke at han ikke levde i 1900. Han var da 19 år og ikke nødvendigvis bodde med sin mor. 

Men når det er sagt har jeg en mistanke om at han døde ung ettersom den andre broren til Marit, Håkon (Haagen) fikk en sønn i 1892 som han kalte Alfred.

 

I FT 1900 står det at de giftet seg i 1897. Da gjenstår det å finne den.

Ser at Mary var enke i 1940. Da er kanskje dette Ole O Lee død i 1936.

Mye interessant informasjon her. 

Hvis det er informasjon om hennes sønn Alfred er det i Sioux Falls. 

Jeg vet ikke hvor mye informasjon fra den tiden som finnes.

South Dakota ble en stat i 1889. I 1880 bodde det 2,164 mennesker i Sioux Falls

Det får en til å tenke over hva slags realiteter de som utvandret til USA på den tiden levde i. Dakota Territory var indianer land på den tiden. 

Den kjente Wounded Knee Massacre var i 1890 ikke langt fra Sioux Falls.
