Palmstrom family search

[Mark Peterson]

Hi, I would like to know if anyone can help me search for a Johan Peter Palmstrom who was born in about 1740-1770 in either Kristiansand, Norway or Sweden. He died from a stroke on the 24th December 1823 in Kristiansand, Norway. He married a Marie Cathrine Staal / Stol in Kristiansand, Norway on the 12th June 1802. They had sons named Peter Andreas, B 22nd March 1803, Gustav, B 6th September 1804 and a girl named Marthe Cathrine, B 7th October 1806.

 

So i’m really after the parents names of both Johan Peter Palmstrom and Marie Cathrine Pedersdatter Staal / Stol and where they were ALL born.

Johan Peter Palmstrøm sounds Swedish to me....!

Hi Grethe, yes my father said, he heard from an aunt when he was a boy, that we had Swedish ancestors and we had a Viking ancestor named Olof / Ole / Oluf. They must of moved to Kristiansand and then onto Arendal, Norway and maybe even Kragero, Norway. Thx.

Are you certain about the town? Kristiansand in Norway and Kristianstad in Sweden are not the same town.

No worries Erik. Just can’t seem to find Johan Peter Palmstrom and Marie Cathrine Pedersdatter’s birthplaces and their parents names. I have racked my brain for ages. Searching Ancestry.com and FamilySearch websites and a couple of others. But can’t find their baptisms or birthplace and parents.

As far as I can see, her name is not mentioned in these pages ( 284b,304,305 or 308).

I think this means that he was a widover at that time (1799).
