Anton Hagelee Skrevet November 3, 2020 Del Skrevet November 3, 2020 (endret) So far the only connection I have found between Ole Østensen and Gittlaug Trulsdatter is that both seem to have been confirmed in Kristiansand. Ole confirmed in 1887. At age 25, that seems a little late in life? Nr. 42 https://www.digitalarkivet.no/kb20060510040472 Also Ole lived in Kristiansand in 1885. https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/census/person/pf01053284010912 Endret November 3, 2020 av Anton Hagelee Lenke til kommentar Del på andre sider

Men Ole, Lars og Østen finner jeg ikke begravelsesåret på. Har lett under "findagrave", men mulig de har byttet navn. Tenkte muligens at de lå begravet i Roseau county siden de bodde her. Some information on Østen might be useful. In 1905 Minnesota Census Østen is living with his wife and two children in Roseau County. David Arvidson Skrevet November 4, 2020 Forfatter Del Skrevet November 4, 2020 Thanks for your help. Is there any good source of information to see whether Ole returned to Norway? I can see quite a few sources of information for people who left Norway but I do not see any sources showing people who returned. For the United States, I cannot see that Ole registered for the World War I draft. I know that does not necessarily mean anything, but it could mean that he left the U.S. before 1918. Not many sources available around 1900 for people leaving US for Norway or for anywhere for that matter. I have used the "U.S., Departing Passenger and Crew Lists, 1914-1966" on Ancestry but have never had much luck. The title states Passengers but all I have ever found were Crew Members. You can also search the Immigration & Travel search site and put in a year in the Departure slot. Also not very much luck using that either.
