Eg har motteke ei utfordring som gjeld å finna lagnaden og mogelege nolevande etterkomarar (obituaries?) etter denne huslyden som stamma frå Lærdal i Sogn:

Alvis "Al" Stanley Ovik, 81, of Mora passed away Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013 at Abbot Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

He was born Nov. 30, 1932 in Brook Park to Arthur and Selma Ovik. Al served in the U.S. Army as an Artillery Sergeant from 1953 to 1955 during the Korean War era. When he returned from service, Al resumed work at Land O' Lakes for the next thirty-six years until the ice cream plant eventually shut down in 1991. He was a member of the American legion Post 201 of Beroun and Mora for forty-six years.

Al married Linda Wiener on Oct. 24, 1970. They had two children, Kim and Jeff. Together, Al and Linda had a hobby farm with a large garden and many animals, including a peacock which he hand fed. He had a love of the outdoors and every year Al looked forward to deer hunting. In past years, he enjoyed fishing and pheasant hunting too. Spending time with his family was very important to Al and he took special joy in being able to spend time with his grand daughters- Jackie who he continued to deer hunt with and Ashlee who he enjoyed watching in school musicals. Christmas was his favorite time of the year to be with his family.

Al is preceded in death by his father Arthur, mother Selma, sister Delores and many family and friends.

Al is survived by his wife Linda, children Kim (Tom) Martini of Pine City and Jeff Ovik (Matt Rentsch) of Robbinsdale and three children from a previous marriage, Mike (Vicki) Ovik of Pine City, Debbie (Jeff) Etienne of Richfield, and Tammy (Rick) Nordahl of Pine City and grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday December 12th at 11:00 am at the Hennriette Free Methodist Church, 21004 State Hwy 107, Grasston, MN 55030. Visitation one hour prior to service. Interment will be at the Brook Park Cemetery immediately following.

Funeral arrangements by Dresser-Methven Funeral Services of Mora.

SIOUX CITY -- Roland G. Lundgren, 81, of Sioux City passed away Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at Indian Hills Nursing and Rehab Center.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Alan Wicks officiating. Burial will be in Brule Creek Cemetery, rural Elk Point, S.D. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Roland was born Aug. 21, 1928, in Elk Point, S.D., the son of Fred and Edna (Sandness) Lundgren. After graduating from Elk Point High School in 1946, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and fought in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. After he was honorably discharged, he attended the University of South Dakota for three years.

He married Lavonne Ranum on Sept. 28, 1950, in Elk Point. He worked as an engineer for Sioux Tools for 37 years before retiring in 1993.

He was a member and past deacon of First Lutheran Church. He was a former member of the Sons of Norway, American Legion Post 1981 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 15016. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening.

Survivors include his wife, Lavonne Lundgren of Sioux City; two sons and their wives, Michael and Alice Lundgren of Sioux City and Kevin and Kia Lundgren of Sioux City; four daughters, Barbara and her husband, Dan Lee of Salix, Iowa, Gayle Parsons of Brandon, S.D., Julie Lundgren of Haven, Kan., and Karen Lundgren of Homer, Neb.; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Doris Petty of Elk Point, S.D.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jeffrey; three brothers, Chester, Donald and Fred; and a sister, Marie.

Pallbearers will be Mike Lundgren Jr., Derrick Lundgren, Clint Parsons, Aaron Lee, Adam Lee, Ashton Lee, Austin Lee and Sam Ford.

Her har det sanneleg dukka opp talrike namn på etterkomarar, so det bør vera mogeleg å finna nokon som lever i dag!  Eg har vidareformidla opplysningane til ein slektning av desse i Noreg som truleg alt er i full gang...
