I used the User Forum to ask a question about Hans Peter Eliassen. His mother was Cahtarina Elisabeth Hansdatter, born 1772 Grønberg, Vestby, Akershus.  At this point, I am not sure how this got in my records, but I have her father as Hans Christophersen (born about 1727 at Grønberg), meaning he was 50 when she was born (not sure of accuracy).  I had notes he died in Oslo in 1805 but recently found a potential person dying in Vestby in 1806.  I have Hans being the son of Christopher Grønberg and Ukjent Hustru.  I suspect this all came from some unverified tree I found online.  I do have this link above but don't know what it says.  I am not looking for complete translation, but can you give me the basics?

A page link is always better than the image link (we can turn pages, zoom etc.):

SAO, Oslo skifterett, H/Ha/L0013a: Skifteprotokoll, 1795-1806, s. 373b-374a

This is the "skifte", that is, division of inheritance, in Digitalarkivet to some extent misleadingly translated to "probate records"

(misleading because probate  refers to a will, which rarely was the case in a "skifte")

The deceased was "Hans Grønneberg";  widower. The heirs were 7 children.

4 sons of mature age (i.e. above 25): Friderich, Albret, Johannes, Christopher; 3 daughters: Martha, Anne Sophia and

(presumably youngest) "Chatarina Grønneberg gift med [married to] Anders Feld(?)hammer paa [at] Lørenskoven"

I do not see any patronymic for Hans.

I can’t find any Catharina born at Grønberg farm at this time.

thank you all.  i only had the .jpg in my notes and couldn't find the link again, so thanks for posting.

By 1806, Chatarina was marred to Anders Borgesen and living in Loerenskoven .  Since this skifte is using residence names instead of patronymic, then that makes sense Anders is listed as Feldhammer.

I do have a follow up question: the skifte is from Oslo.  Does the record note he died there, or is this where they would have done these types of documents?  I had a vague note he lived in Oslo in 1801, but I find this one in Vestby https://media.digitalarkivet.no/view/58212/11, and I assume the same Hans dies at Wester-Garder in Vestby 1806 https://media.digitalarkivet.no/view/7537/91 (a third of way down on right side).

my last post can be skipped.  I have found that Hans did indeed live in Oslo in 1801.  He is listed as living with his daughter Martha (md. Willumsen) that was listed in the skifte.  So I also assume the Vestby records of 1801 to 1806 do not apply to him.  thanks.
