Hans Olsen Aulie (1741-1796)

Hans Olsen married Bethe Thorsdatter in 1774. He was living at Søndre Auli in Nes.

He died 13 Mar 1796 at same location

Record notes he was 55 years old....so born around 1741.

He had children at same farm between 1775-1795.  One was Anders Hansen, who married Birthe Iversdatter from Ingeborud and Klodsbooding farms, and they moved to Finholt and Brandstorp.

 

I looked through records around 1736-1745 assuming Hans was from the same area, and found 9 potential son of Ole's from Nyhus, Mørodre, Børogen, Dystland, Fyri, Ilang, Ile and Runni farms.  I then searched during a timeframe about 15 years later from these and found a Hans Olsen at Rustad confirmed in 1758.  There was an Ole Jøogersen Rustad listed as a witness to many of Hans' children; although Ole was too young to be Hans' father, I have assumed there is a good chance the confirmation record would be the correct Hans (Rustad is near the other farms where the family was known to be residing, but the potential ones noted above aren't as close).  I have looked to see if any of the children's witnesses give anymore hints, but I've been unable find any more leads that help determine the correct Hans birth (and parent's names).

 

This skifteprotokal would be for his wife Berthe Thorsdatter's family (some records note Thor, some note Tord).

two pages later would be more info on Hans and Berthe, but doens't have much I don't already know (I assume the bottom right on that page is asset/debt).

 

otherwise, does anyone have any links to this family that would help me figure out parents of Hans?

It says "Føderåd for enken hos svigersønn Hans Olsen."

Føderåd = kår means accommodation and support provided to retired farmers, often by their children. In this case, Hans is to provide for his widowed mother-in-law.
