For the baptism record Tarald is given the name Tarald Jørgensen  Ryytterager, the father Jørgen Gulbrandsen and mother Ragne Taraldsdatter also have the farm name Rytterager attached to them.

Interesting that for his confirmation in 1829, he is listed as Tarald Jørgensen Fjeld and his parents are Jørgen Gulbrandsen and Ragne Taraldsdatter Rytterager.

Thanks very much for your fine research on my Norwegian family, and information on my great grandfather, Tarald Jorgensen (Rytterager farm).   I'm looking at Tarald's father, my great, great grandfather, Jorgen Gulbrandsen (Rytterager farm).  I think I have his correct birthdate, 1793.  You folks provided the church record of his marriage, June 12, 1802 in Hole, Buskerud to Ragne Taraldsdatter.  Can a nine year old boy get married?

Not likely to be married at age 9.

 

If you look at the 1801 Norwegian Census, there are other candidates, such as this one from Hole born in 1778. So he is 23 in 1801, a much more likely age for marriage.

 

It is probably worth looking for other candidates as well.

In the marriage record for Jørgen Gulbrandsen in 1802, the bride is named Ragna Taraldsdatter from the farm Sønsterud.  In the 1801 Census is a Ragne Taraldsdatter born about 1780 living on Sønsterud. That is about the right birth year for a person married in 1802.

Looking at the original 1801  Census Data. shows  that Jørgen Gulbrandsen born about 1878 is living on the Næs farm. Next to the Næs farm is the Sønstrud farm where Ragne Taraldsdatter is living with her parents.

father is Gulbrand Bierche, which fits some of the data from above.
