COOKEVILLE -- Memorial services for Velma Lorene Iverson, 86, of Cookeville, will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 28, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Burial will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
Ms. Iverson died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011, in Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Iverson was born in Baxter, TN on February 9, 1925, the daughter of the late James McReynolds and Vennie Ester (Mahan) McReynolds. Married May 18, 1945 She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Cookeville. Mrs. Iverson was devoted wife & homemaker and was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Mrs Iverson is survived by: Son: William Michael Iverson and wife Carlotta of N Highland, CA Daughters: Pamela I Thomas & husband James W. of Jacksonville, NC; Billie L Spurlock & husband Tim of Holiday, FL. Grandsons: Sean Iverson & Scott Iverson both of of California Great grandson: Bret Eric Bohannon of Cookeville Granddaughters: Dawn Lewis of Wilmington NC & Stephanie Bohannon of Cookeville Sisters: Evelyn Frazier of Cookeville., Lois Griffin of Chapin, South Carolina. brother: Jim McReynolds of Cookeville& Tommy McReynolds of Nashville.
She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband William John Iverson, her parents, several brothers and sisters.
Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 28, 2011 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church with Father Chad Puthoff, SDS officiating. Mrs. Iverson's cremains will be buried at Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery on Cookeville.

Hjarteleg takk til Sven og Anton for mange nye spennande meldingar!

 

Det er tydeleg ikkje alltid so heilt enkelt å finna fram til agnatisk etterslekt, men eg har endeleg lukkast få tak i eigaren av det eine ancestry.com-treet, Terry Iverson, og han er svært interessert i denne saki.  Men han nemner noko om DNA-testing 23andme og ogso gjennom ancestry.com.  Men kva er forskjellen med FamilySearch DNA, som eg har?  Han kunne elles fortelja meg at slektskapsforholdi i greini hans ikkje var heilt utan «komplikasjonar».  Difor KAN det vera ein fordel for DNA-testing å finna fram til ei grein der me kan vera ganske so sikre på at me har «ekte» linjer frå far til son fram til i dag. 

 

Sjølv trur eg at dei «tryggaste» linjene å ta kontakt med, kan vera Timothy Kevin Iverson (som eg har prøvd å ringja, men der nummeri var «out of use»), eller kanskje aller helst William Iverson og/eller sønene Sean eller Scott i California...

 

Eg lyt ta ein ny prat med Terry, som diverre har liten eller ingen kontakt med desse andre slektningane sine.  Det einaste eg har fått greie på so langt, er at William John Iverson (1922-2007) skal ha vore livvakt for President Richard Nixon!

 

Uansett, so reknar eg med at denne saki etter kvart løyser seg, og eg takkar på ny for framifrå bistand!
