Ancestry.com How to track farm names

I was wanting input on how you all track the farm names the people you are researching were born on, lived on, and died on? I was thinking of using the notes section within Ancestry.com but this is not displayed in a way that is easily accessible/viewable.

 

Inputs?

 

Jeg ønsket innspill om hvordan dere alle sporer gårdsnavnet menneskene dere forsker på ble født på, bodde på og døde på? Jeg tenkte å bruke merknadsseksjonen på Ancestry.com, men dette vises ikke på en måte som er lett tilgjengelig / synlig. Innganger?

A man or a woman could be born on one farm, live on another and even die on a third. Think of a farm name as an address which changes as people moved from place to place. That was the situation up to the 1900s, then farm names became permanent family names.

I was wondering if you all use notes to keep track of where a person was born... what farms they lived on after.. and then what farm they were buried on.

 

I am thinking of using the notes section under each individual to try to track what farm they were born on, farms they lives on, then the farm they died on.

 

Maybe I am overthinking it?

Yes, thank you i am aware that the farm names were just additional identifying information (this was a learning curve as i only recently tracked ancestors to Norway & Sweden.

Only members have now full axcess to searching. Non-members must know exactly which graveyard the person is buried to be allowed to search.

One possibility is to ask here if anyone who is a member of Slekt & Data will do a search for you in Gravminner..

Almost everyone who died between 1951 and 2014 will be mentioned in the following database:

If you find someone there, you also get his/her location of death, which makes it easier to use the "Gravminner" database.
