Meråker sogn record after 1895

I'm researching a family that lived in Meråker kommune in the late 1800s and early 1900s.  I can't seem to find the Meråker sogn records after 1895.

Could the sogn or Prestegjeld have changed after 1895 or maybe the records were lost somehow?  Haven't been able to determine if the records exist.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Churchbooks  after 1895ish from Meråker were still not handed inn to the central archive in 2016 when someone asked a similar question. They were still kept in the parish. It is normal that the church books are kept in the parish until 80 years after last entry.  The censuses 1900, 1910 and 1920 are available on the Digitalarkivet.

 

The parish has bygdabooks so if you have not access to them you may try to place a question about the family on this forum so maybe someone can do a lookup for you.

Hi, I asked Meråker parish directly about this about a year ago. At that point they where yet to finish the transcription of the records, and they where unable to give me an answer as to when they might finish the work, and turn them in to the national archives. I asked them about one spesific person, where i new dob, and they where able to look it up for me, so you could try that if you have a spesific request. I also have access to some of the bygdebøker, so i can attempt to look something up for you if you want.

Hi Hanne,

I'm researching the family of Peder Svendsen f. ~1853.  His hustru was Anne Halvorsdatter f. 1853.

He is listed in most records as husmand, so I don't know if he will be in the bygdebøker, but if you could check that would be great.

He alternately lived at Gudaamo and Haugmarken in Meråker sogn.  On the 1891 census he was listed as husmand med jord and also gruberarbeider for Meråker Brug Smelthytte.

I have managed to get quite a lot for you. Peder Svendsen is indeed listet in the bygdebok. He is listet both in Haugmark and Gudaamo. I found a lot about him under Haugmark, where all of his children is listed. I will stick it in as a picture under

I also found a little about him at Gudaamoen, the farm he inherited. He is the son of Svend Pettersen Bjørnås, who is listet as the person before him.

cont. Also traced Svend Pettersen Bjørnås' ancestry, in the picture under he is son nr. 3 of Peder Larsen Bjørnås and his wife Marit Svendsdatter Bjørknes. Peder Larsen Bjørnås is also son nr. 2 of Lars Ingebrigt Fossen, listed above.
