Hope I have found the correct forum to pose this question. I was unable to find certain family members in the 1801 census, so I tried to narrow my search to the specific local parish in Hordaland - Lygre, for example - where I knew they resided. When I brought up the 1801 census for Lygre, I was looking at about 3300 names, mostly on farms that I know are not in the Lygre parish. Even today, only a few hundred people reside in the Lygre area. Am I approaching this incorrectly?

When you look for Lindås in the 1801 census, you would also get all the other parishes in Lindås that you can find in Berit's link. However, if you just want to search the census list, it should not make any difference about the size of the population, as you can use the search function.

Probably you are looking at the census records for Lygra sub-parish plus all the other sub-parishes of Lindås.
