Please read all and explain the word that comes after Peder (the father's name)

Dominica Rogate Hegre.

 

Baptiz. Peder Sætrans barn Anders. Test: Ane Sætran, Ranni ibid., Anders ibid., Peder Torge, Anders Lougen.

 

Dominica Rogate is the date written in latin. In 1753 this date was May 27th.

Hegre is the church where Anders was baptized.

Sætran is the farm where Anders father Peder lived, the same goes for the farmnames after the witnesses firstnames: Sætran, Torge and Lougen.

ibid. is shorthand for the latin word ibidem which translates to "the same as written before" and in this event is tells us that Ranni and Anders also lives on the farm Sætran since that is the farmname written just before the next witness.

Rememeber, the way the farmnames were written in 1753 is probably not the same way they are written today.

I suspected that Anders might have been born on a different farm from the one he lived on later (Holmstrøa).

Would it be possible to send the pages from the bygdebok for that farm (Sætran), or tell me in which book about Stjørdal that I might find it. I have found several Stjørdal bygdeboks on the antikvariat.net site that was suggested to me in a much earlier post.

Sorry. I checked earlier today. This Anders died 1756 according to "Stjørdalsboka"...

That is why the bygdeboks are helpful. I wonder if another Anders was born later to this gentleman? Otherwise, that is the end of that line for now!

So far, all I have found is from Hegra parish:

Stjørdalsboka : gards- og slektshistorie. Band V 1 : Hegra herad (1953)

Stjørdalsboka : gards- og slektshistorie. Band V 2 : Hegra herad (1954)

 

I have found newer books: Hegra : gårds- og slektshistorie 1, 2 and 3, published by "Hegra historielag" 2004, 2005 and 2009. (not accessible)

"Hegra historielag" is on Facebook - someone there might be able to help with more info.
