In Search Of Any Information About Ditlev Moller Ditlevsen, Born 1864

Ditlev Moller was the son of Ditlev Moller Ditlevsen, born 1838 and Albertine Sophie Elvig born in 1840. He was born on November 14, 1864 in Haugesund, Norway. I have been unable to find any information as to his life, including his death. The same is true for his father, who died very young. His death has been a mystery. I have found an individual who died in 1871 but I am uncertain if it is the correct person. I did find that the father was a sailor.

Any help will be appreciated.

You do have quite a bit of information on your Ancestry.com Family Tree. Are you interested in what happened to him after 1875?

He was mentioned as a missing seaman in a newspaper in 1923, saying that he has not been heard from for 30 years, and his last rumored location was Pensacola, Florida, about 20 years ago:

Knut Bertinius Johannessen, who you researched before ALSO got off the boat in Pensacola in 1891 and did not return until much later. Very interesting.....

Now to find Ditlev in the United States

Just happened to think...I wonder if Knut Bertinius Johannessen (he married Ditlef's sister) and Ditlef Moller were on the same boat leaving for the US, the Bark Sherwood, which arrived in Pensacola in August of 1891?

That would explain Knud’s connection to Ditlefa. Ditlef’s seaman’s record states he was in «Amerika» in 1891 as far as I can tell, but unfortunately offers no further details about ship name etc.
