joseph Skrevet September 28, 2021 Del Skrevet September 28, 2021 Hello I am researching the history of the sail ship, Earl of Dunmore. This vessel was in Fredrikstad between 24 July - 3 Setember 1908. If you have any records for this vessel during the aforemantioned period I will be delighted to hear from you, this vessel was sold to norway in 1011 and renamed Spartan, she was torpedoed and destroyed in 1917. If you have any information on this ship under the norwegian coulers I would be interested in that also. I have been working on a scale model of this ship for 30 years, along with researching her history wich is intended to be published as a book, attached are a couple of images re' the same. Look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Joseph Kay Lenke til kommentar Del på andre sider

For inquiries that require access to archive material you are supposed to use our schemes. I found some history of the ship on this site: https://skipshistorie.net/Tvedestrand/TSD101CarlBech/Tekster/TSD10119140100000 SPARTAN.htm There would probably be information about the ship in The Arendal Ship Register. This has been forwarded to the Regional State Archives of Kristiansand. Then a ship goes down and someone survives, it would lead to a Maritime Accident Investigation. This court would be held in the nearest harbour or at the ships’s homeplace. These documents could also be in Kristiansand, or at the National Archives in Oslo.
