Mulig romani-forfedre?

(Norsk):

Hallo!

Tusen takk for all hjelp på forhånd!

(English):

Hello!

Through DNA testing, I found that I have consistently hight and accurate south asian ancestry. This made me this, perhaps I have Romani ancestry. My ancestors were from the Trøndelag region of norway (although I am American).

I will provide a link to my family tree: http://www.ancestry.com/family-tree/tools/tree/68023875/invitees/accept?inviteId=531cf0a8-2cbe-4255-b4e0-bb5dd7b5847a

I believe my suspected Romani/tater ancestor was "Ole Halvorsen Vold" (born 1837, in Sparbu, Nord-Trondelag, Norway), although it could be anyone from that side or likely further down his lineage (perhaps a parent of Ole's, or grandparent, etc.)

I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction of searching for possible clues that might indicate possible Romani ancestry?

Thank you all so much for all your help in advance!

Your link did not work for me. I got this message when I tried to use it.

"Your invitation has already been used.

The invitation could not be found, or it has already been accepted."

It also might be of value if you describe the DNA testing your are taking about and what firm did the testing.

I did find a Family Tree on  Ancestry.com for

Ole Halvorsen Vold

1837–1929

BIRTH 14 OCT 1837 • Sparbu, Nord-Trondelag, Norway

DEATH 25 FEB 1929 • Trondheim, Sor-Trondelag, Norway

https://www.ancestry.com/family-tree/person/tree/77704628/person/180197377465/facts?_phsrc=Yze1&_phstart=successSource

It is probably not your tree but looks to be the person you are interested in. Now a problem is that only those who have a subscription to Ancestry.com can use the link so that does limit somewhat the number of people who can look at the Tree.

You may transfer your Ancestry DNA test for free to My Heritage, where most Norwegians are testing. You may also transfer for free to FamilyTree DNA (also used by many Norwegians).

It gets a little tricky to push your ancestry back further in time. The various Trees on Ancestry.com have the father of Haldor Rasmusen born 1810 as

Rasmus Haldorsen

1782–1835

BIRTH 17 JUN 1782 • Gudbrandsdalen, Oppland, Norway

DEATH 01 JAN 1835 • Vuku, Nord-Trondelag, Norway

The birth year of 1782 fits the Rasmus from the 1801 Census posted above. But I would question the birth place. A better fit would be this Rasmus.

Rasmus Haldorsen

in the Norway, Select Baptisms, 1634-1927

Name:Rasmus Haldorsen

Gender:Male

Birth Date:17 Jun 1782

Baptism Date:28 Jul 1782

Baptism Place:Sparbu, Nord-Trondelag, Norway

Father:Haldor Rasmussen

FHL Film Number:125436

Reference ID:book 1

Rasmus Haldorsen born in 1782 probably had a brother named Ole born in 1784.

Ole Haldorsen

in the Norway, Select Baptisms, 1634-1927

Name:Ole Haldorsen

Gender:Male

Birth Date:14 Nov 1784

Baptism Date:06 Feb 1785

Baptism Place:Sparbu, Nord-Trondelag, Norway

Father:Haldor Rasmusen

FHL Film Number:125436

Reference ID:book 1

I did manage to find his original baptism record. His father is Holder Rasmusen Høen. Sixth record from the bottom on the right hand page.

Probably Ole out on his own in the 1801 Census

Looking more carefully at the 1801 Census for Ole, I see at the same farm Kjesboe a Haldohr Rasmussen born about 1741 and his wife Maria Olsdatter born about 1751 and several children. Both in their first marriage.

Need a little more digging to find out if this man could be the father of the Rasmus and Ole born in the 1780's?

I see there is a Bygdebok for Sparbu. We would need to have some kind soul try and find out the history and ancestry of the Haldor Rasmusen Høen or Kjesboe to move much this family back in time.

Here is the baptism of one of the sons of Haldor Ramsusen and Maria Olsdatter in 1792. Born in 1791. Father is called Haldor Høen in this record. Probably means this man and wife are the parents of both Rasmus and Ole as well as the children found in the 1801 Census.

Haldor Haldorsen

I took both gedmatch and 23andme and had consistently high levels of south asian that would indicate roma ancestry. a few of my matches from the same region of norway match with me on these segments, where they also score south asian. I think roma ancestry is a possibility-- but I am not sure where to look for it in records, etc...
