Hvor er Arthur Berg?

Jeg utforsker slekten til mannen, og har et lite mysterium.

Prest i sjømannskirken Emil Bernhard Berg tjente mange år i England, og fikk sine fleste barn der. I 1882 flyttet han til Sør-Afrika, hvor han døde i 1912. I papirene fra dødsfallet står barna listet, blant annet en Arthur Berg.

Alle de andre barna er registrert døpt i sjømannskirken i England.

Av en eller annen grunn har jeg satt 1881-1929 som årstall på Arthur Berg - jeg må ha sett en kilde på det, men av en eller annen grunn ikke notert den.

 

Det er mange gode kilder på resten av familien i norske kirkebøker fra sjømannskirken og på Familysearch. Mye av det er lett å finne gjennom faren Emil Bernhard Berg på Familysearch (NB! mye registrert data er feil!) https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/sources/G4N4-DPT

 

Men spor av Arthur finner jeg ikke. Jeg tror søsknene er listet i kronologisk rekkefølge i dødsmeldingen til faren, isåfall kan han være født i Sør-Afrika etter flyttingen dit, men det er rart at jeg ikke finner dåpen.

Jeg har en teori om at han KAN være et pleiebarn eller adoptiv, men ville han da være listet sammen med resten av barna i dødsmeldingen?

Kanskje Emil Berg og hustru Kornelia var fadderene i juni 1882 ?  Nr. 1 i 1882.

Dåpen til Harald Edvard var lett å finne, i hovedsak er de fleste søsknene lett å finne ut av. Det er ikke tilgjengelige bøker fra Sjømannskirken i Natal før 1885. Dødsprotokollen anslår 1883, men Arthur er med familien som ankommer 29. august 1882. Det er sannsynlig å anta at han er født like før avreise eller på skipet, og døpt i Natal etter ankomst. Ettersom broren Harald Edvard er født i januar 1881 er Arthur sannsynligvis født mellom september 1881 og august 1882.
