Ingemund Knudsen Borsheim -> Ingemor Traavik (f~1607, d~1666)?

Q: After Ingemund Knudsen sold his interest in Ytre Borsheim in 1640, where did he go?  Meanwhile, we have Ingemar Traavik appearing with wife and 3 children at Traavik, Olve in 1645 & 1647.  Could Ingemund Borsheim and Ingemor Traavik be the same person?

1519 Skatt: Haktor og Utorm

1563: Knut Utormsen og sonen Ingemund Knutsen

1590 & 1597: Ingemund Knutsen, kj. barn: Knut

1601-1627: Knut Ingemundsen, kj. barn: Ingemund, Synneva

1628-1640: Ingemund Knudsen.  "Dei har lote pantsetja og selja garden og flytter annenstad…"

1640-1658: Synneva Knutsdtr og Hans Tomasson(?) fraa Dysvik

 

Discussion:

Ingemar Traavik is first noted at Traavik in 1645 and was there in 1647.

So the timeframe fits for him to be Ingemumd Knutsen Borsheim. 

However, his only known son was "Ole" and not "Knut", nor was there a Synneva, Utorm or …

But Ingemund Knudsen was poor and Ingemaar Traavik was not:

 

1652: Ingemund Knudsen Børsheim  noted in Tinglag as having dispute with his brother-in-law. Ingemund had tried to take over a part (1/2 løp smør) of the Børsheim farm. Ingemund agreed to leave the farm since he could not pay the taxes.

Meanwhile, in 1645 Ingemår Traavik was a lagrettesmann (1648/9) lived and farmed with wife and 3 children at Traavik and was there in 1657 and paid 5 1/2 mrk.  So it seems Ingemund Borsheim is likely not the same person.

Ingemar Traavik "Tråvik" (1607-1663)

 

DNA: We have confirmed thru Y-DNA testing 2 male lines descending from grandson to Ingemar Traavik: Ingemår Olsson Valhammar (1654-1711) .

DNA haplogroup: R-BY164761.  If a male line descendant from Haktor Utormsen Gjerde / Aenes were Y-DNA tested, we could prove/disprove whether Ingemar Traavik and Ingemund Ytre Borsheim were the same person.

This hypothesis can now be discarded because of several findings since then.

First,

So he lived at Tråvik in 1611-1613 as a young man, around 22-25 years in 1611 and so born around 1588-1590.
His father was most likely a farmer at Tråvik around 1590. 

Second, we see Ingemar noted as a bruker at Traavik from 1617 (or before) along with "Lasse", Lars or Laurits thru 1624.  We then see Johannes and Ingemar there from 1628 (or before?).

And in 1590, we see a Lars and Tore as farmers at Traavik.  Given Ingemar's known son Ole named his 1st known son Lars (2nd son was Ingemar), it fits then that this Lars Traavik (b.1590-1624) was father to Ingemar Traavik.  However, Ole's wife Ingeborg was datter of a Lars, so there was already a reason to name a son Lars.

 

Bottom Line: Ingemar was at Traavik during the time Ingemar Knudsen was at Borsheim---so there's no connection.

 

NOTE: It is curious that Lasse Traavik no longer appears there after 1624 but then we see Lasse Ingvaldsen appearing at Hjartaaker in 1628.  Lasse Ingvaldsen was one of the owners of Traavik (and many other properties) and also is noted in 1640-50 timeframe as selling Storum in Os to a Lars Traavik.  It's tempting to think that Ingemar Traavik was then son of lensmann Lasse Ingvaldsen Hjartaaker father of lensmann Sten Lassesen Haavik) especially given Lasse's father was Ingvald or Engel --> 'Engamor"?  But if that were the case, we'd see Y-DNA connection from 2 descendants of Ingemar Traavik and any of 3 Y-tested descendants of Torbjorn paa Gjon (Lasse Ingvaldsen's farslinje oldefar).  But so far there is no match.
