Can anyone identify Jakob Larsen, gevorben soldat?

My 3^rd-great-grandmother Marit Olsdatter (1801 to 20 Sep 1860) seems to have never married and lived her whole life on the farm she was born on: Randklevsvigen (Vigen under Randklev) in Ringebu, Ringebu, Oppland.  Randklevsvigen (if I have found the right place) is between Gudbrandsdalslågen and the Vestsidevegen, across the Lågen from what is now the city of Ringebu.

On 5 Nov 1821, with Anders Olsen, she had a son Ole Andersen.  On 6 Jun 1829, with Jacob Larsen, she had a son Lars Jacobsen.  As Lars Jacobsen is my great-great-grandfather, “Jakob Larsen, gevorben soldat” is who I want to identify.

In case it has any significance, I will say that, sometime from 1868 to 1875, my great-great-grandfather Lars Jacobsen (6 Jun 1829 to 24 Apr 1912) left his wife and children and moved to Møre og Romsdal, near the city of Åndalsnes, and lived the second half of his life in Grytten prestegjeld.  Living in Møre og Romsdal, Lars adopted Randklev as his permanent surname.  Maybe his father was a Randklev or was from Møre og Romsdal, but probably not.  (I have found Lars on the censuses for 1875, 1891, 1900, 1910, and his death in 1912.)

This should be fairly simple to solve, though it will take you a lot of work. Since you know for a fact that the father was a listed soldier at the time of the child's birth, you can simply search through all the military archives for this time period. There will not be many, probably only one with this combination of name and rank, but you will have to search quite a few lists. They are all available on the net.

Anton, thank you for pointing out that I should have posted the links to Lars Jacobsen’s records and for adding the links.  I created Lars Jacobsen’s memorial on findagrave, but I should have added the link to my question.

Lars Løberg II, I’m sorry to say that I don’t know where to find the military archives.  Nine months before Lars Jacobsen’s birth was 6 Sep 1828, late summer to early fall.  The only military facility I know of nearby was in Sør-Fron, at a place called Breivegen, about 12 miles (19 km) from Randklevsvigen.  The summer gatherings on Breivegen lasted from 12 days to 48 days.  I would start my search there if I knew where to find the records.

Note that the birth record quoted in the first post says “Jakob Larsen, gevorben soldat”. I.e. gevorben as in professional/full time soldier. Not a conscript in a "national" unit. Such as those from Gudbrandsdal-valley, trained in Sør-Fron. The officers were professional, but not the enlisted soldiers or the 

 

The professional soldiers mainly served in the garrisons or fortresses in the cities. I would look for Jakob Larsen in a unit in Christiania or Trondheim, perhaps Bergen. The "gevorbne" soldiers had frequent leaves, so he could very well be in Ringebu or another place.

 

You need to look for records from "gevorbne" units in Norway active in 1829.
