Help with marriage

On this record, I am disagreeing with the index on a name, and I'd like some help with the other columns.

https://media.digitalarkivet.no/view/773/180

Number 6 is Arne Arnesen and Thomine Christensdatter.

I first disagree with the indexing of Arne's father. The index at https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/view/327/pv00000009828045 say L. Arnold, I think it is i Arendal and I can't read the name or words in the line above.

What are the words prior to Arne's name?

What are the comments in the last three columns?

| Enkemand og Grubearbeider Arne Arnesen | fød i Arendal Oph: i Neskilen i Tromøe Sogn |

Widower and Miner Arne Arnesen | born in Arendal, staying in Næskilen, Tromøe [Tromøy] Parish |

His fathers name is not listed, only Uægte fød i Arendal. Illegitimate born in Arendal.

Last columns:

Han havt de naturl: Kopp. Hun vaccineret af  P: Larsen 17/10 10 He has had the natural pox, she vaccinated by . . .

Han Attest ved Sandberg 25/3 47 og af Skifteret: af Fabritius 29/3 47. – He Certificate by . . . and from the probate court by/from F.

You are right disagreeing. The transcription is by AMF. And not reliable at all.

Reg.

EDIT:

Oh, forgot – the last three columns, first one: Brudgom:[men] The Groom. Not sure what the english word is, but he has ‹demanded the announcement› forlangt lysning (of the marriage).

Thank you Even. I thought that might be widower, but just wasn't sure. I was also positive it was illegitimate but it's nice to have validation.

Reports are disabled for the record, is there any other way to report the bad transcription?

Well – a long story in short: The norwegian Digital Archive (DA) has an ‹agreement› with AMF about transcriptions. I’ll leave the details out. As a result there are many more searchable records available than prior to this agreement. The back side: The transcriptions are sometimes (read: more than often) ridiculously bad, which in some cases makes searching a joke.

There is currently an extensive «dugnad» – voluntary work – going on among members here to ‹proofread› all the AMF-material.

So in a way it has already been reported. 🙂

Well thank you so much for the work you, and the other, volunteers are doing. Glad this little page will get a second review.
