Help needed with a name

Greetings from the USA.

 

I am researching my wife's family. In particular, I'm looking for information on a great-grandmother, known to us only as "Lena Tlueit," born in Norway in 1880. However, I can find no one in the archives or even though Google named "Tlueit," leading me to think it's a bad misspelling. Can anyone she some light on this?

Was she married to Herman Erickson? Anyway, the surname in Norway would problably be Tveit or Tvedt.

Hi David, welcome to the forum!
In order to identify your Great Grandmother "Lena Tlueit" it would be helpful to have more information. Last names at that period were fluid, and the names of migrating people even more so. Do you know roughly when she arrived in the USA, and which state she settled in? Do you know who she married, and what her marriage records say? Have you found her in any US census, and if so, by which name and living with whom?
It was fairly normal for sibling groups to settle close together, even if they did not arrive at the same time.

Yes, she was. That is a very bad misspelling! Digital, or even human, transcriptions of handwritten documents often do that. But I am almost certain that is her.
